At the core of Vincentian service is a practice called the Home Visit. Those requesting assistance are asked to call our Home Visit line and request assistance via a voicemail message. The Home Visit Line is not an emergency line. Due to the volunteer nature of our team, it may take a while for a response.
The Home Visit is conducted by two of our volunteers. They will visit the home of the person asking for help and then after the call is over, determine what we might be able to do. In addition to visits, we work in tandem with various social service agencies throughout Washtenaw County, particularly when the need is great. Some calls may receive a Home Visit, some may not, depending on what is appropriate and our current abilities to provide that encounter.
